Horseback Riding Lessons
At Mac’s Meadows we offer horse riding lessons from beginner to advanced students. Lessons are scheduled 7 days a week between the hours of 9am and 8pm. Call for an appointment. Our students range in age from 5 years to adult. The maximum allowable weight for riders is 200 lbs. Some equipment is essential for the safety and comfort of the rider. An approved equestrian helmet and some type of English riding boot must be worn by our English riders. Helmets and boots with a heel are required for our Western riders too. Riding boots provide stability in the stirrup and are less likely to hang-up in the stirrup in the event of a fall. Riding Breeches or Chaps are recommended.
Each student is taught the basic dressage exercises to achieve the needed skills to give proper aids, before moving on to a more advanced level. Horse riding lessons with the beginners usually start on the lunge line. This work often builds confidence, and allows the rider to feel the actions of the horse while the instructor is controlling the horse. Lessons usually last about an hour, but sometimes a little longer, in order to end on a good note.
Private horse riding lessons are $40 per session on your horse, $45 on one of our school horses, lesson packages and gift certificates are available. Each new student is evaluated and an individual plan of action will be formed to meet the student’s goals.
Video Lessons
Mac’s Meadows is introducing video lessons as an exciting and unique tool to improve the quality of your lesson. Your lesson will be recorded on video and then be immediately available for review. Reviewing your video footage in a replay fashion makes it easy to pinpoint errors and focus on how to improve your skills. This technique is a successful use of technology to improve horseback riding skills.
We have tested the video lesson, and had great results. Many riders may not realize that they’re even doing something wrong, but when they are able to see their techniques on the video replay, it becomes clear where problems may exist. After your lesson, we can upload the video lesson to our Mac’s Meadows website, so that you can review your video lesson as much as you like. This technique can demolish bad habits before they become worse, but it also allows riders to show off their riding skills to friends and family!
Horseback Riding Lessons Discount Packages
Mac’s Meadows is pleased to offer horseback riding lesson discount packages! What a great way to get your kids involved in horseback riding. We offer a variety of packages to suit your needs, for those that are hesitant to enroll in a long term commitment without testing the waters, we offer a 2 lesson introduction package for $70. If you decide you like it, buy a larger discount package within 30 days of the lesson and we will offer an additional 10% off the discount package, you can’t beat that!
For those that are ready to jump right in, we offer;
6 lesson discount package for; $260 school horse, $250 your horse
12 lesson discount package for; $510 school horse, $480 your horse

Mac’s Meadows discount packages do not expire, however we ask that you use the allotted lessons in consecutive weeks; i.e. 6 week package good for 6 weeks from start of first lesson. If for some reason you can’t make your scheduled lesson, contact Mac’s Meadows to reschedule your lesson for a different day of that week.
Refund Policy – If you are unable to complete the quantity of lessons designated by the discount package, the original purchaser will be entitled to a pro-rated refund. The refund will be the difference between the price paid and the number of lessons already taken X $40 per lesson.
